Google Panda

Google Panda mainly focuses on websites with majority of its web pages containing low quality content. This normally affects sites that have either duplicated content (Copied from other sites), attempted to reword content poorly or very low grammar quality. To avoid Google Panda requires a website to have 100% unique content which has been created purely for a person, reads well, is grammatically correct and has not been solely created for a search engine.

Google Penguin

Unlike Google Panda, Google Penguin targets websites with poor quality backlinks which have been used to manipulate the search results. There are different backlinks within the criteria of which Google Penguin targets, such as social bookmarks, forum profiles, blog comments, etc. To avoid Google Penguin requires a website to have a clean backlink profile containing hardly any links of which Google believes are spammy. When linking back there must be a combination of follow and nofollow backlinks and links that are keyword anchor text and contain the domain itself in order to be perceived as natural link growth.
